The patron of the cycling race for women is Princess Anna Vasa (1568-1625) – a starosta from Brodnica and Golub, a Swedish princess, sister of the Polish king Zygmunt III Vasa, a precursor of modern herbal medicine, who lived in the castle towering over Golub-Dobrzyn.

The initiator of the race is the cycling coach and educator Marian Krych, associated with the Toruń Cycling Club Pacific and the Student Sports Club “Sokół” Wielkie Rychnowo. In cooperation with the Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, the Starost of the Golub-Dobrzyń County, the Mayor of Golub-Dobrzyń and the Head of the Golub-Dobrzyń Commune, the first edition of this international event for women racing on the road took place in 2020.
